【キーフレーズ】

Wait a minute.
これはツッコミの表現。Wait を高く、minute のところを低く落とす。
もちろん「待ってて」という意味にも使える。

Charo, you hop onto the right boat, cross the ocean, and you'll be in Japan. Just like that.
「命令文 and 主語 + 動詞」 (…しなさい、そうすれば〜です。) 
 手順を述べたり、相手の行動の結果について予想や忠告をする
Just like that. = It's very quick and easy.
 しばしば指をパチンと鳴らすジェスチャーとともに使われる。

you are so small you can easily sneak in.
「so + 形容詞または副詞 + (that) 〜」 (とても…なので〜だ)
例) He was so sweet everybody liked him.

Wait a minute. Where can he find the right boat?
That, we have to figure out.

That, we have to figure out. = We have to figure that out. thatが強調されて前に出ている。
figure out …「計算する、理解する、解決する」といった意味で、find out よりも頭を使う複雑な事柄がかかわるときに使われる。

We'll never make it.
make it = succeed

She couldn't believe Dread's being so unplanned.

That's the spirit, boy!
spirit …精神、魂、心、元気、意気
Attaboy! / Attagirl! (よくやった!) =That's the boy/girl!

Way up there.
way には「道」「方法」以外に、「ずっと」という意味もある。
That's too long. は「それじゃ長すぎます。」
That's way too long. は「それじゃまったく長すぎます。」

They ran ahead to the pier where the big white boat was staying.

It's got to be a Japanese boat.
It's got to be は It has got to be のつまった形。
It has to be と意味は同じ。そして It has to be は It must be と同じ。

No, that's impossible.

likely (ありりそうな)
the least likely... (〜しそうにない…)
例) You are the least likely person to lose a key.

make a scene (大騒ぎをする)
例) I don't want to make a scene here.

And this unbelievably quiet dog right here is saying that he wishes the best of luck to you, too.
→ And this unbelievably quiet dog right here is saying, "I wish the best of luck to you, too."

Margherita made sure Charo got to the terrace...
make sure (確かめる、確実なものにする、念を入れる)

Margherita kept barking and got everyone's attention.
keep 〜ing (…し続ける)
例) The phone kept ringing.
on を加えると、「続けた」ことが強調され、ときにはほのかなイライラや不安が表現できる。
例) the phone kept on ringing. / She kept on sleeping.

Charo made a long jump.



【Think in English】

「落ちたらどうなる? こわいよ」

What if I fall? I'm scared.
Oh, no. I can't. It's too scary.

その他
What if I fall? It's scary.
What will happen if I fall? It's frightening.

相手に「よしてよ」と訴える方法
Don't make me do it. It's too scary! (おそろしいことさせないで。)
Come on. I don't want to fall. (やめてよ、落ちたくないよ。)

ちょっと大人っぽい響きで
Just a thought of it makes my knees shudder. (考えただけで膝が震える。)
It gives me a chill just to think of it. (考えただけでゾッとする。)
